Computer Scanners Have Been Here Since 1975

Computer scanners are one of the most widely used peripheral devices in the corporate world. It is used to scan documents, images and objects. There are a wide range of scanners in the market to choose from depending on your needs and requirements.

The computer scanner was first invented in 1975 by Ray Kurzweil. One of the most widely used scanner is the flatbed scanners. By the word itself this device has a flat/platen glass area on which the document lay down on to scan. Flatbed scanners are typically used for small quantities of documents unlike a high speed document scanner whose job is to handle large quantities of documents. Speeds of 20-50 pages per minute are common for high speed scanners.

An example of one these fast scanners is Canon's imageFORMULA DR-M140 Document Scanner. It was designed for high speed scanning at an affordable price.
