What is Blu-Ray? not Blue-Ray

Blu-ray Disk (BD) is a new optical disc format with high storage capacity. It was developed by Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA) and world's leading consumer electronics, personal computer and media manufacturers. A single layer disk has a capacity of 25GB, about five times of a DVD and a dual layer has a capacity of 50GB.

Most of the High Definition Videos are written on blue-ray disks giving an extraordinary HD experience for the consumers. DVD, DVD±R, DVD±RW, and DVD-RAM are based on a red laser to read and write data but Blu-ray uses a blue-violet laser instead. Blu-ray is currently supported by most of the world's leading consumer electronics, personal computer, recording media, video game and music companies.
