OEM, Compatible, Refurbished / Remanufactured or Refill Printer Toner Cartridges

There are basically four types of toner cartridges available in the market. The first ones are the OEM (original equipment manufacturer) toner cartridges that are manufactured by brands like HP, Epson, Dell and Canon. The second category of toner cartridges is the compatible or generic cartridges which are similar to OEM cartridges in quality but much lower in terms of price.  Remanufactured or refurbished toner cartridges comprises the third category of these cartridges which are recycled from the original ones. The fourth category is that of the refill toner cartridges that can be refilled with toner ink and used again and again till they are worn out.

In order to get quality printing output, it is very important to use high quality toner cartridges. If you use low quality toner cartridges in your printer they can potentially harm your printer. Low quality toner ink cartridges might be low on cost but in the long run they can cost you much more. These low quality printer cartridges can destroy your printer with their poor quality ink and can have several other bad effects for your printer like paper jams and make your roller wear out prematurely. In addition to these problems low quality cartridges can leak and bleeding ink on to printed sheets.

A good quality printer is an expensive computer accessory whether it be a laser or an inkjet printer. So are the replacement toner cartridges that you need after your starter cartridges (one that comes with your printer) get exhausted.  Since buying brand new toner cartridges is an expensive proposition people tend to buy low quality printer toner cartridges to try to save money.
