The original Thanksgiving feast lasted for three days. There is a strong likelihood that turkeys were served, along with geese, ducks and pigeons. Whether the Pilgrims and Indians ate enough fowl to save 19 bucks (male deer) from being killed is not known.
By some accounts they also ate oysters and lobsters. Not a bad menu, me thinks.
