Console Cables



The term “console cable” includes a wide variety of individual types of cables, all of which can be used to connect to various types of computer equipment. The main function is to allow the users to connect external devices to a computer in order to enhance its performance and functionality.


Most interior components in a computer are also connected to the motherboard or processor via cables, these types of cables are not generally considered “console cables”. Audio input and output, video input and output, and network devices must all use a console cable in order to be connected to a computer. The most common type of console cable is the VGA display cable used to connect a computer system to its monitor.

While console cables are extremely inexpensive, are usually several feet long, and are rarely ever damaged. Even when sold separately, by popular stores who usually carry virtually every console cable, users find it difficult get the correct console cable for a specific device.
