Computer Memory sticks are a type of flash memory card format which was introduced by Sony Corporation as a standard for all the Sony devices. The different types are memory stick pro which has greater storage capabilities and read or write speeds. Memory stick duo is another type which is a smaller variant of original memory stick. Smaller than duo is the memory stick micro.
Sony added the Memory Stick PRO-HG, a high speed variant of the PRO to be used in high-definition video and still cameras in December 2006. Sony generally includes Memory Stick reader hardware in many of its electronic products such as digital cameras, digital music players, PDAs, cellular phones, the VAIO line of laptop computers, and the PlayStation Portable.
