Ways To Clean Printheads

Printheads is one of the most important elements of a printer that is responsible in applying those marks or images to the paper. It is important to maintain it as when it gets clogged, the quality of the image you print will definitely suffer. Once you already notice the decrease in output quality of your documents, you may need to consider cleaning the printheads to ensure the quality of your print out.

Cleaning printheads is very simple. We can either try cleaning it using software or cleaning it ourselves. Most inkjet printers have options to clean it by using its software. For instance, some Canon printers can be cleaned using its software by going to Maintenance tab and select the type of cleaning you want to perform on the printer. This might be done several times to ensure you get the printheads clean.

Some opt to clean the printheads manually with the use of water or isoprophyl alcohol. The first thing you have to do is to remove the ink cartridges from the printer. You may use a small cotton that has been dipped on water or alcohol and rub it on printheads. The goal is to get rid of those dried up inks.

Once the process is done you will notice a better performance from your printer. Although be cautious as printheads may be made in rubber, if that is the case never use alcohol. Instead use water so as it would not dry up the rubber on the printheads.
