It’s very important to know the basic ways on how to clean or maintain your computer printer. You may not be aware that using chemical solutions to wipe down your printer may be one of the reasons for printer's breakdown. So, try to avoid the heavy use of water, alcohol or harsh cleaning agents but rather use a very light amount of cleaning chemicals or soap.
Here are some simple ways to clean your printer. First is to switch off your printer and let it cool off for an hour before opening to clean. Second, remove the toner cartridge to avoid ink from spilling out and use a toner cloth to clean the exterior of the cartridge. Third, use a soft brush to clean the other parts of the printer that are hard to reach. Fourth, after making sure that all the parts are cleaned reinsert back the toner cartridge, close the cover and switch on the printer to run a test print. These few tips may be simple yet very helpful in maintaining the life or usage of our printer.
